Objectif :

Leg 1 :

* Obtenir une couverture quasi synoptique du Golfe et de l’Estuaire du Saint-Laurent en récoltant des données « CTD » (Conductivity, Temperature, Pressure/Depth), oxygène dissous, chlorophylle a, sels nutritifs, pH/alcalinité, salinité et des échantillons de phytoplancton et zooplancton, aux 46 stations positionnées le long des 7 radiales du PMZA, Région du Québec. (M. Scarratt, S. Plourde, P. Galbraith, M. Starr, J. Chassé, D. Lavoie)
* En complément aux stations du PMZA, échantillonner plusieurs autres stations supplémentaires (CH, CMO, IF, etc.), toutes situées dans des secteurs clés du Golfe et de l’Estuaire du Saint-Laurent. Ces stations sont échantillonnées avec le même protocole que celui des stations PMZA, sans toutefois y faire la collecte de phytoplancton et de zooplancton.
* Relevé acoustique durant toute la mission. (S. Plourde)
* Tenter la récupération du mouillage 2022 de la station Shédiac avec un grappin.
* Observation et recensement d’oiseaux marins (M. Beaumont, EC)

Leg 2 :

* Effectuer l’échantillonnage pour l’évaluation de l’abondance et la distribution des œufs de maquereau sur les 66 stations de la grille d’échantillonnage traditionnelle dans le sud du golfe. De l’échantillonnage océanographique sera fait selon le protocole du PMZA, mais réduit à 3 profondeurs, à certaines stations de la grille maquereau (S. Plourde, C. Lehoux).
* Évaluation de la distribution verticale du zooplancton par imagerie (Video Plankton Recorder) et par échantillonnage stratifié (MultiNet) sur quelques stations dans le cadre du suivi des habitats potentiels de la population de baleines noires. (S.Plourde)
* Déploiement de deux mouillages océanographiques (J. Chassé)

Objective:

Leg 1:

* Obtain a quasi-synoptic coverage of the Gulf and St. Lawrence Estuary by collecting CTD (Conductivity, Temperature, pressure/Depth), dissolved oxygen, chlorophyll a, nutrient salts, pH/alkalinity, salinity and phytoplankton and zooplankton samples, at 46 stations located along the Quebec region’s 7 AZMP radials. * In addition to the AZMP stations, to sample many other stations (CH, CMO, FI, etc.), all located in key sectors of the Gulf and St. Lawrence Estuary. These stations are sampled using the same protocol as the AZMP stations, but without collecting phytoplankton and zooplankton.
* Acoustic surveying throughout the mission. (S. Plourde)
* Attempt to recover Shediac station’s 2022 mooring with a grappling hook.

Leg 2:

* To conduct a sampling to assess mackerel egg abundance and distribution at the 66 stations of the southern Gulf’s traditional sampling grid. Oceanographic sampling will be done according to the AZMP protocol, but reduced to 3 depths, at selected mackerel grid stations (S. Plourde, C. Lehoux).
* Assessment of the vertical distribution of zooplankton by imagery (Video Plankton Recorder) and stratified sampling (MultiNet) on a few stations as part of monitoring potential habitats of the right whale population. (S.Plourde)
* Deployment of two oceanographic morrings (J. Chassé)
